Chinese New Year is just round the corner and we have an adorable artwork for you to add on to your list of home decorations to celebrate this festive season. Come join us and look through the eyes of the artist to discover the innocent and playful side of children portrayed in traditional Chinese painting (婴戏图). Look at the children having fun with their lion dance performance and even the sparrows are joining in the fun too!
In this 2 hour workshop, you will learn how to paint a traditional Chinese painting style artwork using watercolour paints. The outline of the artwork will be provided so that you can focus on the mixing of watercolour paints. Through the mixing of paints, it will allow you to have a better understanding of the colours used in Chinese paintings.
We will explain the concept behind traditional Chinese painting to you during the workshop. After understanding the concept, you will know what it takes for artists to be able to bring out the essence of the scene portrayed seemingly effortlessly.
At the end of the workshop, you will be bringing home your completed artwork together with a reference sheet that will allow you to continue to explore traditional Chinese painting style artworks based on the concept learnt during the workshop.
